Making Progress – continued

The present challenge you are facing: The scripture gives us assurance that we would always come out of “every” trouble and difficulty we may be facing. Put on a positive attitude that in due time all will be well.
Know who you are in Christ: For you to make progress in life, you’ve got to know who you are in Christ. If you don’t know who you are, then you have a big problem. If you are a child of God, you’ve got to believe that He will never leave you or forsake you.  Take positive steps to make progress in life and He will back you.
Know whose you are: If you know who you belong to in life, then nothing can stop.  The person you belong to determines what power is behind you.  The person you belong to determines the authourity by which you operate, it determines what flows to you and what power is behind you.
Know the laws of progress/success: Why do some people make progress and others don’t? One of them is the law of sight, see yourself succeeding and you will get there. Another one is faith, faith is necessary to obtain what vision has in store for you, when you see it you’ve got to believe it, believe that the vision you see in your spirit will become reality. There is also the law of discovery, everything we will ever need to succeed in this life – has already been provided! You just need to know how to discover and tap into it. Consistency is another thing; make progress by keeping good habits and being consistent in it.
Don’t surrender: If you want to keep making progress, don’t be satisfied with where you are.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill.
Don’t give up because you have achieved or failed in a particular goal you have, move on whatever the case may be.
Let go of yesterday: These are the yesterdays that “went well and the ones that didn’t” when you let go, you will be able to concentrate on what the future has in store for you.
In this journey of, making progress is very important so that we can arrive at our God ordained destination.  Make up your mind to succeed today and take positive steps forward.

Making Progress

I am starting a new topic on making progress; I will be talking about how to make progress after success has been achieved.  In making progress or achieving success in life, there are certain moves we must make, if we really want progress. There are some behaviours we would have to let go and some that we must acquire. Everybody wants to achieve success and make progress in life – this is possible, but there are rules and actions to be taken.
There are thousands of things that must be done, that will help move us forward and make progress in life. I will just go straight to the point and outline some of these:
Forget past achievements: This has to do with the things we’ve seen, the favours we received, blessings that came our way, etc.  If we sit down and continue to rejoice and be “contented” with these things, before you know it we could become comforted and believe we have arrived our destination and as such – may decide not to move on. Glorying in the past tends to hold you down, refuse to settle for “this is good enough.”
Reject “every reverse gear” in your life: You’ve got to keep your mind on the target, reject every reverse motion in your life.  You’ve got to make progress in your life, keep your eye on moving forward. The Apostle Paul says “If any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him,” the part of a just man shines and, moves on. You’ve got to make progress in your personal life, find ways to improve your life and your journey don’t stay in one place, and you don’t want to live a life of unhappiness. Whether you like it or not, if you don’t make progress in your life, when you now see people whom you probably trained or helped take a step forward now pass you, there is something in the human mind that tends to be jealous.  You don’t need to compare your life with anyone, but you need to make progress.
Past mistakes and mess-ups:  Do not dwell in the past and stop pondering about old/past things. You may have been disappointed and some people may have treated you bad, may have behaved like you are not even there – put the past behind you!  Never measure your life all the time by how people treat you. God is doing a new thing in our lives; refuse to be paralyzed by past mess-ups, 1 John 1:9-10, if you confess your sins, God will forgive you.  Forget past mistakes and mess-ups, don’t let them hold you back! If people throw stones of past mistakes on you, gather them and use it to build a great future.

Make A Good Use Of Your Time

In the morning, it is either we are in a hurry trying to meet up with the days appointment or trying to make breakfast, or trying to get more rest –probably exhausted from yesterday’s work.  It would be a good thing, if we try and account for every minute of our time, especially if you have a set goal.  Try and spend your time valuably, so that at the end of the day we can get some satisfaction, after all, goal setting and evaluation all boils down to time spent.
Spend Time With Your Family
Nothing brings joy like spending time with the people you love, especially your family.  Spending time with your family members makes them feel loved and connected with you, especially some of us with a very busy schedule.  Make the most of your time with your family, “charity begins at home” they say.  Even if you don’t have an immediate family to relate to, your friends and people closest to you – loved ones, can benefit from your valuable time.
Time Alone
In as much as we need to relate with others and our family, we also need time alone.  Yes, because when you are relaxed and happy, you won’t feel “cheated” and just doing things to please other people.  Go to the Spa, take a little vacation or time off once in a while to relax and meditate – spoil yourself a little.  Give yourself a break, and spend some time alone, and, make it count.
It is important that we spend our time, putting it to good use and sharing it with the people we love.  It’s not how many hours there are, but how much you spent for yourself and the people you love.

Visualise Yourself Succeeding.

It is important to be realistic, but at the same time lets not think less of ourselves neither should we think we are better than what we really are!  It is indeed difficult, but; when you are true to yourself knowing your capabilities and prospects, it gives you the zeal to go even further.

See yourself where you want to be in the future, this will help you in your journey to achieve success.

Picture Yourself Big!

By dreaming big, it means you have a huge ambitious target, and that can bring about a positive change in your life.

Start your day by looking into the mirror and say: “I am a big person with big dreams. I am ready to accept big challenges to achieve big success in life. I am no doubt a successful person”. A successful person always dreams

Open Up Your Mind To New ideas.

As we go about our work each day, let’s keep our minds open to new ideas and possibilities.  Life is about learning and developing new skills and also experiencing new opportunities, by opening our mind to possibilities, we are ready to discover new things.
Let’s ask ourselves this – are we ready to change our behaviours and open our minds to possibilities?  What possibilities are waiting for us to explore them?  We could be missing out on things that will bring us joy, laughter, love and happiness into our lives!
Though we may encounter fear along the way, do not give in.  Recognize fear for what it is – an opportunity for growth!  If we resist fear, we are stifling growth.
Like the children we once were, we need to continue to approach life with open minds and fearless spirits believing in our ability to persist and eventually succeed in any endeavour we undertake.

Start Your Day Right!

It doesn’t matter what “side of the bed” you woke up, don’t let anything spoil your mood thereby affecting your decision and choices for the day.  Make up and condition your mind that nothing can spoil your day no matter what.
Train your mind to start the day right, so that it will be easier to carry on with the day’s activities.  You can begin by asking yourself some of these questions:
What am I thankful for in my life today?
What can I do today to improve my quality of life?
What brings happiness in my life right now?
In what way can I be of help to someone today?
What do I look forward to this moment?
Think about these questions, and, provide answers to them each day.  They will help you to start your day right.

Don’t Hold Yourself Back!

We sometimes view success as - an accomplishment somewhere in the future, why wait for “sometime in the future,” when we can actually take actions now?
Our personal success lies in the actions of this moment.  Take actions today in accomplishing your goals, mistakes are mere obstacles to be crossed before achieving an eventual success.
I used to think that I may never achieve great success, because I believed that only wealthy people are the ones who can help me succeed, and, I never had any “very” wealthy family member or friend willing to help!  At a point in time in my life, I decided “ok I don’t have the connection, I will create one.”  So I made an effort, searched for help related to the type of goal/success that I wanted and, I have been getting amazing results.
Don’t hold back because you don’t have resources – seek, and you will find that which you seek.
Go ahead and create your world of possibilities. J

Go Green for the Environment

The “Go Green” initiative is an important step towards eco-friendly and sustainable living.  This is a wonderful initiative that will not only improve the quality of our lives, but save our beautiful environment.  I decided to join the go green initiative, because I consider our environment as a gift from God and as such, it is worth saving!
Going green to save the environment, involves conscious or deliberate efforts to make our environment better.  With the issue of climate change and global warming looming, it is not at all a bad idea to do things that can save/better our environment.
There are several ways that we can contribute to saving this our God given environment.  Yes, there are so many ways to go green for the environment, some of which include but are not limited to:
Stop using disposable products – order reusable ones.
Use recycled products – By recycling and re-using, we reduce the amount of waste that sits in landfills.
Turn off the lights when living the room – this way you will conserve energy.
Turn off your lights for as long as you can – open your curtains and enjoy the natural light.
Turn off your computer completely at night.
Reduce temperatures on your geysers or water heaters.
Eat organic foods – you can enjoy tastier foods and improve your personal health.
Wash the laundry in cold water, not hot waters.
Walk or ride a bike to your errands that are closer.
Will you go green for the environment? If you are already going green, what are some of the ways you are going green?  Remember when you go green; you are saving our precious environment.

The Power of Positive Thoughts and Confessions

If there is one thing we have complete control over, it’s our thought!  We can decide what we want to think in any situation.  The way we think or interpret events, brings about a feeling, be it positive or negative.
Everybody loves security be it financial or otherwise, and, believe me when I say no one loves security more than me.  Right now, I am yet to attain the level of financial security I want for me and my family.  If I keep on thinking and saying to myself “oh what is the use of trying, things are looking so bad I will never make it” then I will never make it!  If you keep on confessing negative things like “I will never lose weight”, “I will never get well”, then by all means you won’t!
Our thoughts and feelings lead us into actions, and thus determine the results we get.  It all starts with – Thoughts.  Our thinking and confessions shape our lives and ultimately makes us who we are. Let us take care of this precious asset, because it can either build or destroy us.
“You become what you think about most of the time” – Earl Nightingal
Most importantly, the scripture states that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” and “As a man thinks in his heart so he is.”
